<hi style=afpcap>The Sikorsky Aircraft Company is best known for their rotary winged designs, although the manufacturer produced some fixed wing amphibian types during the '20s and '30s. Amongst these was the C-6 which was a 12 seater land/sea plane obtained in 1929 which was evaluated at Wright Field before being reassigned to Bolling Field, Washinton for service. A further ten more were ordered in 1930 as the C-6A with assignment at various locations in the USA, the Panama Canal Zone, and in the Philippines for transport and target towing duties. </hi>
